Estrogen further exacerbates the problem by affecting our collagen levels, which begin to decrease as we age. Other causes of cellulite are yo yo dieting and a lack of exercise. So, in addition to the remedies below, light weight lifting and walking can work as well! Anything that helps get rid of fat tissue and shrink fat cells.

1. Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
By now you’re thinking, “is apple cider just plain good for everything?” and it kind of is. See, eventually science always circles around to finding out the methods being used since 400 or 4,000 B.C. are actually best. Apple cider was actually used by Hippocrates, who made the remedy famous. Hippocrates mixed it with honey for wound care and there is new evidence that apple cider vinegar, 15 to 30 ml daily, can aid in weight loss. Losing weight, of course, will reduce the appearance of cellulite, but apple cider vinegar aids in ridding the body of cellulite in other ways as well. Apple cider works to detoxify the body and regulate the balance of good bacteria in the gut—which rids the body of toxins, helping to slowly eliminate the toxins in the body that cause cellulite.

2. Water, water, water!
It is hard for me to drink a lot of water, I admit. I just love coffee, but once I started really trying to get healthy for good, I started drinking more and more water and less coffee. The results were that I not only lost weight, I noticed a huge reduction in cellulite as well. Dehydration causes cellulite period! If our skin is not hydrated, of course, it gets an aged, somewhat wrinkly look. Most importantly, you’re storing all these toxins in your fat cells instead of flushing them out. Water is the most natural cleanser and detoxifier on earth. Embrace it. Often. You will come to crave it. You can still have your coffee – just drink more water than coffee.
3. Coffee –Sugar Scrubs and Wraps
Speaking of coffee, coffee-sugar scrubs are one of the most highly recommended remedies for cellulite. If fact, fitness guru Jillian Michaels strongly advocates these scrubs to get rid of cellulite. To make a good coffee-sugar scrub, mix 3/4 of a cup of used or wet coffee grounds (I just use wet grounds not used ones to ensure I’m getting a maximum caffeine benefit). Mix these with enough sugar and coconut oil to create a good, abrasive body scrub. Use this after a shower until you feel it “tingle” and then stick around to see immediate cellulite loss. The reason it works is that caffeine, when applied to the skin, both energizes you as it absorbs into your system and tightens the skin. Even if it is temporary effect, it’s great for a day wearing shorts or skirts.
